To analyze athlete movements & techniques in real conditions
To support its research activities, Rouen’s University in France needed to find a solution to measure inter-segmentary angles on athletes in real conditions of practice. The university was looking for a simple and small system enabling specific data collection in the usual practice space without altering the athlete performance.
Wireless, miniaturized and energy self-sufficient, SEQUANTA wireless data acquisition systems are mobile and re-usable for multiple sporting activities. They enable data collection in real conditions analyzing more representative cycles of the entire activity than traditionnal multicameras systems.
The University deploy SEQUANTA system and set it up on athletes body in various sport disciplines: ice hockey, trail running, swimming & climbing. They thus analyzed movements fluidity of a climber, measured variations in acceleration of a trail runner carrying a bag on his back, studied swimmers coordination in crawl and observed regardless gesture frequency, skating cycle phases and lower limbs organization in ice hockey.

– 3D accelerometer
– 3D gyrometer
– 3D magnetometer
